Ah, a tropical getaway! Sun, sand, surf, and speeding through loop-de-loops into corkscrews at 300mph until you sick up your sangria. That’s the fun offered by Trackmania 2 Lagoon [official site], which launched today. The latest in Nadeo’s wonderfully silly racing series takes the tropical environment from 2016’s Trackmania Turbo and whacks it into the […]

Update May 23, 2017: Following their breakup from publishers Square Enix, Io Interactive have been forced to lay off staff to keep the studio afloat.
There’s no word on how many staff are affected by the layoffs, but the studio announced the news in a tweet today.
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet tw-align-center” data-lang=”en”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>An update from the studio: <a href=”https://t.co/k0aoms5cOQ”>pic.twitter.com/k0aoms5cOQ</a></p>— Io-Interactive (@IOInteractive) <a href=”https://twitter.com/IOInteractive/status/866997673412501506″>May 23, 2017</a></blockquote><script async src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>
Remedy Entertainment and EA DICE are among some of the studios offering to pick up those affected, so hopefully most of the developers soon find a new home.
There’s a chance Io are being forced to downsize to become more attractive to potential buyers, but there’s no word on a buyout yet.
Original Story May 11, 2017: As part of their financial year 2017 results announcements, Square Enix say they are “withdrawing from the business” of Io Interactive, the folks who’ve been putting together Hitman for the last 16 years. It comes at the end of a year where Square posted record sales and profits thanks to Final Fantasy 15, Rise of the Tomb Raider and various mobile games.
Nachdem Season-Pass-Besitzer bereits seit einiger Zeit die beiden neuen Kämpfer Zenturio und Shinobi auf den Servern von For Honor genießen dürfen, können ab heute nun auch alle anderen Spieler loslegen.
One of the core elements of Destiny 2 are Strikes; 3-player cooperative missions that allow Bungie to push Guardians through meaner, more creative encounters. They’re the equivalent of MMO dungeons; not quite as challenging as a raid, but more important than your average quest. We’ve played The Inverted Spire, a Strike set on the planet Nessus, and you can watch the entire thing right here.

The video above is the full mission, as played by Matt, completely uncut. Matt’s also here to comment on what was going on, and is joined by PCGamesN’s behind-the-scenes Destiny nerd Kelly. Together they discuss the new weapons, class abilities, and level design, while the Strike team attempt to take down the Vex’s Modular Mind.
Warframe developers Digital Extremes have announced their new game, Keystone, a bizarre blend of deckbuilding and face-shooting. If that’s piqued your interest, there’s a closed alpha soon.
Check our upcoming PC games list for more future hits.
Looking like the cover of a ‘70s pulp sci-fi novel, Keystone starts out on the first square of a magic board game, transporting players between dimensions where they’ll battle in out in FPS action, using both weapons and powers.
Players will also be building up a deck and collecting cards, with which they can deploy boosts and other tide-turning abilities. These decks will work in synergy with your teammates’ cards, too, so Digital Extremes promise plenty of tactical scope for those who like working together.

SteamVR just got a shiny new beta for anyone who wants to try out the upcoming SteamVR Home experience. Those of you out there who have used a VR headset through Steam will be familiar with the SteamVR launcher. For those of you who aren’t, it’s the area that Steam throws you into when you first pop on the headset and while it is frankly a mind-blowing experience, it’s definitely still in its infancy. The community has been busy making custom environments for it, everything from a giant chess set to an English churchyard, but the tools haven’t been there to make significant changes until now.
Fill that library with our list of the best VR games.
An announcement on the SteamVR community page says that Valve have “heard loud and clear that creators want the ability to make more detailed home environments, with sound, animation, interaction, and social elements.” Adding that “all of these features and more are now available.” Here’s the highlight reel:
Colm hasn’t played any of the other games in the series, but after seeing the critical reception for Syberia 3, he knew this was a game he had to have a look at.
